My 4 miles this morning were pretty uneventful. Was a 9:00 pace run. Splits were 9:10, 8:43, 8:35, 8:10 (8:40 average). Was cold and dark ... only 43°. Wore gloves the whole run.
This afternoon I had to do the hills that I didn't do yesterday. I went to Cedar Hill because that's the closest place with hills. The neighborhood I run in is SO nice! Really expensive houses. Here are some of the sights. That second picture is a driveway. I would love to see the mansion at the end of that drive!
And here I am at the end of 7 hills (2 miles). UGH! I hate hills! But look at the elevation chart. So fun!
Stats for the hills: 2 miles, elevation gain 323 feet, elevation loss 323 feet, average pace 9:39. I'm pretty happy with that. I was actually feeling pretty confident after this hill run. Only problem was that I forgot to bring any water and it was hot (85°). And then I got a cramp in my left side. Not good cause there was no water!!! So when I got done running, I climbed in the back of the car to see if any of my slobby kids had left any water in there and guess what ... I was in luck! I love my daughter!!! Who knows how old this water was but I really didn't care. It was my oasis!
Ahhhh! A happy and hydrated runner!
And I've always wondered what those towers are in Cedar Hill. I can see them from my house. So I Googled them and it looks like they are radio towers for lots of stations in the D/FW area. Here is a list of what they are.
Tomorrow is Fartlek Friday - 6 miles of fast and slow running.
