More Shoe Issues!

Well last time my shoe issues were because I had worn a pair of running shoes that I knew I shouldn't.  But it was something totally different this time.  I had training all weekend for work so yesterday morning I ran my long run because training didn't start until 11 o'clock so I swapped my Saturday and Sunday runs.  I ran my 12 miles and then put on my favorite pair of boots and I thought all was great.  Well ... 12 hours in heels is a bad thing for someone not used to wearing them ... especially after running 12 miles!  And pair that with walking up and down the stairs at the hotel about 20 times (34 stairs in all) and I had some tired feet.  My feet hurt so bad this morning that I almost turned around at the end of the street and came home!  Here are the culprits!

After I got about half a mile into the run, the pain was tolerable and about a mile into it, I was feeling pretty good and I was able to salvage the run.  It was an easy 4 miles and I wanted to keep it at around a 9:00 pace.  Split times were 9:42, 9:17, 9:03, 8:31 (9:08 average).  A little slow but that first mile killed the average.  I was happy with the negative split though and the last mile especially.

The sun was coming up just as I was getting home and it looked pretty over my rooftop.  (That's my house on the right.)

And it was another REALLY sweaty run.  My sweat rag could almost be wrung out when I got home.  Not sure what's going on.  Guess it's just all of this humidity lately.

And then I had to quickly get ready for my meeting.  And the boots with heels were out!  I decided on some nice, flatter shoes.  Just a little bit of a heel.  And my feet thanked me!

Tomorrow is my rest day.  Hoping I can heal this annoying blister on my left foot.  And I will also post my weekly summary tomorrow.
