I had to swap my Saturday and Sunday runs this weekend to accommodate my work training schedule. So today was my long run and tomorrow will just be an easy 4 miles.
Shame on me for not even realizing that today was 9/11. But some of the first things I ran by this morning were several flags flying half-staff. So for several miles I reflected on what that meant to me and my family and just took some time to remember. Here are some of the flags I saw. It was really windy today and they looked so pretty. :)
And then I ran by the lake and the sun was shining on it just perfectly! Just a gorgeous day!
Stopped for a second to say hi to one of my favorite cows. She was right by the fence but left while I was getting my camera out. So you just get to see the fence. She almost let me touch her today!
And then I ran by the site that will be the high school that my kids will go to. My oldest will start next year and will be in the first graduating class that goes all 4 years at the school. I have heard rumors that the school will be called Lakeview High School but no confirmation yet.
And the whole run I was looking for a Corona bottle for Mom but I never saw one. However, I did find a really cool tea can. This one is for my daughter. She loves peace signs!
It was a pretty uneventful 12 miles. My goal was to run it at about a 9:30 pace. Just slow and easy. But not too slow. My average today was 9:25 with mile 1 being the slowest mile (9:43) and mile 12 the fastest (8:47). I'm always happy when I can finish strong and today I felt really good.
Hoping for a good 4 miles tomorrow. It's gonna be tough though because I had a VERY long day of training for work today and I have to do it all over again tomorrow. And I have to be at the meeting at 8am across town. Gonna be an early morning.
