Got myself "primed" and ready to run (That's Gatorade Prime that I'm drinking.) I decided to run to Lillian, Texas. I had 20 miles to go and I looked on the map and Lillian looked to be about 10 miles from my house. So out the door I went into uncharted territory.
And I ran and ran and ran! I sort of knew which way I was going. This was a sign I needed to see.
And I saw a whole lot of farm animals. I loved this field because it had cows AND donkeys all mixed together. But apparently they didn't see people very often because as soon as I started running toward them, they ran the other way.
And then I finally made it to a stop light. I was sure I was in Lillian! I knew that on my map I wasn't quite there but I figured I was at least inside the Lillian city limits. I mean, this was a town out in the middle of nowhere. It HAD to be Lillian. Look at all of these thriving businesses on the bustling corner!! :P
So I asked an old man coming out of the donut store if I was in Lillian. He kind of paused as if to think where in the world he was. And he said, "Well, no, you're just about in Mansfield." And he pointed at the sign by the side of the road. Are you kidding me??? I ran 10 miles just to get to the other side of Mansfield??!!
Ah well. I couldn't get to Lillian because the road there was too busy so I turned around and saw the sights of the outskirts of Mansfield. This was actually quite entertaining and I had to take a picture of this yard. How often do you see a goat and a dog in the backyard together? Such a nice mobile home park. :)
And then I finally got back to a place I knew. Hmmm ... left to Mansfield and right to Midlothian. I choose ... neither! I went straight. And that took me to The Big Square ... my favorite run! That picture of me is in the square. It's starting to get hot and my face was dripping wet!
Then I ran down through the cemetery (that gravel is tough to run on) and out to the lake.
And then I stopped for a minute and drank the last bit of water. And I noticed when I was drinking it that my hand was shaking really bad. I knew it was time to get home. Luckily I only had about a mile left to run. So off I went.
And as soon as I got home I downed this full thing of Gatorade then ate and ate and ate! My watch estimated 2,000 calories burned!
Here are the stats for the run. I felt it was a good run. Very happy with the pace and no problems with any aches or pains. :)
Tomorrow is my rest day and I'll post my stats for the week.
