My run this morning was totally by the light of the moon. And it was still a full moon. It was pretty bright and gave enough light to take a picture.
I had an ok run today. Felt a little sluggish. I think the hills I ran on Wednesday had something to do with that. Gotta get my legs used to hills! Today was a fartlek run which is basically fast and slow running. I kept singing a Little Gym warm-up song while I was running (it's called Mr. Turtle and Mrs. Rabbit where we move slow then fast). "Slow and steady wins the race" ... yeah right! Gotta go fast and steady to get less than 3:50:59!
As always, split times don't mean a whole lot on a fartlek run but the overall average pace is a good indication of how the run went. Today my splits were 9:06, 8:49, 8:48, 8:54, 8:57, 8:07 (8:47 average). That last mile saved the average for sure! I've been feeling stronger at the end of my runs for the last couple of weeks and love it when I can finish with a fast mile. The pace chart is fun to look at for fartlek runs. Fast and slow ... fast and slow ...fast and slow ... over and over and over!
Tomorrow is an easy 4 miles. Think I'll run it at about a 9:00 pace. I'm pretty sore right now though so we'll see how that goes. :)
