I love my Sunday runs! And they are finally starting to get longer. Today was a 14 mile slow and easy run. And during my Sunday runs, I just like looking around at all of the cool things that I don't notice every day. Like this house. I love it!! Just so small town and friendly with all of the plants and the flag and cross.
I ran by my sweet donkey friend at about mile 8. He is so cute. But today he was way across the field. But when I clicked my mouth a couple of times, he came running to see me. :D
And he let me pet him today. I think I should give him a name but for now I just call him Donkey. Such a nice ass!! :P
At mile 10 I realized I was completely out of water so I did what I had to do ... stopped at a random house and borrowed some water from their spigot.
And then there was a mile or so of just country stuff. I thought this fence and flowers looked pretty.
About mile 12 I realized it was really, really hot and I was glad the run was close to being over. My face was bright red and I was starting to get goosebumps from the sweat. Was getting a little lightheaded too so I slowed it down some the last 2 miles.
Mile 14 ended at the lake so I stopped for a minute to cool down before I walked the quarter mile to my house.
It was a good run but the heat got me the last couple of miles. I guess I still need to get up early for these long runs until it starts to cool down a little. It was in the 90's by the time I finished my run. I like to keep Sunday runs between a 9:30 and 10:00 pace. Average pace today was 9:43 so that was good.
Tomorrow is my rest day so I'll post my weekly summary.
