Today's run was a 4 mile 8:45 pace run. And it was just difficult from the first step. My legs were sore. Not really sure why since yesterday was a rest day. And after I got warmed up a little and my legs stopped hurting, then I could feel the blisters on my feet. But that annoyance was soon overtaken by my inability to breathe. I was just having a hard time keeping the pace. I even stopped for a minute at mile 2 to catch my breath. (Taking a picture was an excellent excuse for a quick break.) It was pretty warm (81°) and humid so maybe that was a factor. No matter - it wasn't the best run of all times but tomorrow will be better. :)
Split times today were 8:44, 8:41, 8:40, 8:37 so I did keep the pace but it was extremely difficult. And I usually try to run the last mile quite a bit faster and I just didn't have it in me today.
Tomorrow is a 6 mile 85% effort tempo run. Think I'm gonna try to run it at about a 9:00 pace.
