Ahhh ... back in Texas! I'm not gonna lie - it was HOT this morning and I shoulda left earlier than I did but it was nice to be able to breathe again. Guess my lungs like the thick, humid air here. :P Today's run was a slow, easy 8 miles. I left the house right as the sun was coming up.
It looked really pretty through the trees.
And I was already really, REALLY sweaty by mile 3!
So I stopped for a few minutes and talked to my cow friends. They always come over and see me when I run by and sometimes I get a little closer to them than I should and today was one of those days. But they're so cute! (What? ... You're not supposed to jump the fence and go see the cows?!)
And then I ran another couple of miles and needed another quick break so I stopped and looked at the hay. I think it looks cool when it's all in a row like this.
And about this time I decided it was entirely too hot to be running and just wanted to stay by the hay all day but that didn't seem like a good plan so I wiped off the sweat and got to it.
Had to take a picture of the #15 sign. Not really sure what it's for but I think it's neat. And I noticed they plowed all of the dead corn behind it.
Ran by the big dirt hill (doesn't look big in this picture but it is!). One of these days I'm gonna run up to the top of that hill! Just cause I want to. :)
Then I ran by the cross at the side of the road but noticed that there are now 2 crosses. So I stopped and looked. They are for 2 different people but the dates on both are the same: 7/19/09. So I guess the family must have put up the second cross this summer because this is the first time I've noticed it. I'm guessing probably on 7/19. So sad.
And that's it. Wasn't the best run. Took too many breaks but it was way hot! School starts for the kids tomorrow so I will be getting up way early for runs so I won't have to deal with the heat as much. Today's average pace was 9:52. But my watch automatically pauses if I stop so I was a little slower than that.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a rest day but I need to make up the 4 miles I missed yesterday so I'm gonna do that.
