Today's run was pretty difficult for me. My legs are just tired! And I'm not used to anything but steady speed running. However, my recovery times were better than last week's fartlek run and there was very little walking to lower my heart rate. But the worst part was the chaffing. OUCH! The last 2 miles were awful! Gonna have to see what I can do about that cause it just wasn't working for me! Split times are wacky on this type of running but overall average pace was 9:58. Fast runs were between 7:10 and 8:30.
Enough running talk ... on with the pictures! With fartlek runs, there is plenty of time to stop and smell the flowers ... so I did. :) This is by the water park.
The sun was coming up as I was passing the baseball fields. And I thought it looked so pretty in the baseball net.
And then I realized I was in Chicago. Musta taken a wrong turn somewhere!!
Whew! Made it back to Texas!!
All this confusion is making me thirsty! Oh look ... I found some water along the way! Wait a minute ... that's clear liquid but it's NOT water! Better stick with the water I brought with me!!
Ahhh ... my favorite part of the run. Love it out in the country. Today I noticed some really old farm equipment. So I took pictures of it. The old farmers think I'm crazy but they always wave at me. :)
And that's it for today. I have an easy 4 miles tomorrow. Then we're packing it up and headed to Colorado so I may miss my Sunday run if we get there really late Saturday. We'll see. But I'm looking forward to running in Colorado. Just not the hills!
