It was just about a perfect morning to run. Clear and only 72°. I almost felt chilly there for a few minutes! :) Every Friday is a 6 mile fartlek run but I did this one a little differently than I have done others. Instead of running full-out then walking, I ran probably 95% then recovered with a slow run. There was no walking today. Split times are just an average because the running is not a steady pace at all but today they were 9:10, 8:56, 9:00, 9:05, 8:45, 8:32 (8:55 average). To show the difference between fartlek and steady running, just look at these graphs. The first is from today where the speed was anything but steady and the second is yesterday's 5 mile pace run. (The pace falls off the chart there at the end because I finished my run and walked a little to cool down but forgot to turn off my watch.)
I've decided there is not a whole lot to take a picture of in the dark but I still like to. So here's me under a light at the baseball field. And a picture of the baseball field office. I think the lights look pretty.
And this is me just getting home as the sun was coming up (I left a little later today than I should have.)
And another gorgeous Texas sunrise! I love that I get to see them every day. :D This was taken behind my house.
Tomorrow is a steady, easy 4. Looking forward to that!
