This week's mileage total was 41.25. That's up 4.25 miles from last week. :) And most runs felt good. I had a little trouble recovering from the hills on Wednesday and my Friday run really showed that. So hopefully these next 5 weeks of hill training on Wednesdays will help me with that.
My mileage total will go down next week because my long run is only 12 miles. But that's ok because it goes up to 18 miles the following week. And weather for this coming week looks perfect. I'm kinda glad I didn't have to run this morning though. Don't know if I'm ready for 55° just yet!
Here's a concern that I just discovered and there's nothing I can do about it so I guess I just shouldn't worry about it. As most of you know, my goal for the 2010 White Rock Marathon on December 5th is to run it in less than 3:50:59 and that will qualify me for the 2011 Boston Marathon. But I was poking around the Boston Marathon website to see when registration begins and found the following FAQ:
Q: What is the first day I can qualify for the 2011 Boston Marathon?
A: The qualifying window for the 2011 Boston Marathon began on September 20, 2009. Registration for the 2011 Boston Marathon will open on October 18, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. and is expected to fill quickly. Registration for the 2010 Boston Marathon opened on September 9, 2009 and closed on November 13, 2009.
So I can't register until I qualify and I just have to hope that the race isn't sold out by December 5th. Looks like last year it took just over 2 months to fill so if that's the case this year, I should be ok since registration doesn't start until October 18th.
And that's all for now. Tomorrow is a 6 mile 8:45 pace run.
